Addgene is a non-profit plasmid repository that helps scientists share plasmids. We have created this board game for you to play during your incubation times in the lab or to teach your young children a little about what you do all day. The game gives a very basic overview of creating a plasmid through molecular cloning. It begins with PCR and restriction enzyme digestion, followed by DNA ligation. The process proceeds to transformation, DNA purification and verification by diagnostic digest and sequencing. With a bit of lab humor worked in, of course. We encourage scientists to share this game and Addgene's plasmid reference and molecular cloning resource with those who need a simple explanation of the topic.
